Even if you’re living in a historical house where electricity and network wiring aren’t planned for the big entrance, the EP7 can start working without big problems. Its outdoor doorphone comes with a large and detachable lithium battery that’s easy to charge and supports running on solar energy. Additionally, it communicates with your indoor monitor through your home Wi-Fi without any long, annoying connecting cable.

The EP7 doorphone may be the best option you can find in the market to upgrade your old intercom system if you live in a spacious house. It allows you to control bot the car gate and the front door, and uses the Wi-Fi HaLow™ technology to stay strongly connected to the indoor monitor despite long transmission range and thick walls, while smartly optimizing its battery use.

If you want to keep your pocket empty while out exercising, or if you are accidentally locked out of your house, the keypad ensures you can always get in easily.

The EP7 makes it a lot easier to grant access to visitors, even if you’re not home. You can either open the door for them remotely or create temporary passcodes or scannable QR codes for them to use on site – such features come in handy if you have a babysitter or dog walker that visits regularly.

Operating as the main control panel, the 7-inch touch screen lets you customize your doorphone’s settings, facilitates distant communications, and stores motion-triggered snapshots and video recordings. When the doorbell is pressed, the indoor screen will simultaneously light up to let you know who’s outside.

The EP7 has a sleek design with a simple, identical glossy black for both the keypad and the solar panel. Differentiating itself from traditional intercom systems, the EP7 satisfies the need for a minimalist yet elegant home environment. The indoor monitor screen makes the most of its touch interface to provide an intuitive user experience.

To maximize the connected experience with remote controls, you can connect the indoor monitor to either the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. Enjoy strong Wi-Fi with lower latency, larger bandwidth, and a stable signal.

Compared to the prevailing H.264 video compression technology, H.265 creates a more fluid viewing experience with recorded videos. Meanwhile, you won’t have to worry about large video files taking up too much of your storage space – H.265 technology reduces their sizes by up to 50%⁷.

Specifically, the outdoor doorphone is battery-powered and supports solar charging, thus does not require electricity wiring during the setup. Furthermore, the outdoor doorphone connects with the indoor touch screen through Wi-Fi, and does not require internet wiring between the two devices. However, wiring is needed to connect the doorphone to obtain gate/door controls, and users also need to use power cable to connect the indoor screen to the power outlet.
Only the outdoor video doorphone supports solar power charging and is compatible with the included solar panel. The indoor screen needs to be connected to a power outlet. The inclusion of the supporting solar panel in the EP7 kit is intended to provide an additional power source for the main device, helping to extend the battery life of the doorphone to reduce the frequency of recharging. Please note that the solar panel is not the primary or only option to power your EP7 doorphone , as its charging efficiency is highly dependent on sunlight exposure (which can be greatly affected by the location and orientation of the solar panel and whether other objects in the area are blocking sunlight) and the frequency of unlocking activities (opening the controlled door). If the solar panel is not able to keep the EP7 powered on, you can simply remove the battery from the doorphone by unscrewing the battery cover, and charge the battery indoors without moving the main device itself.
Only the outdoor video doorphone and the solar panel are weatherproof. The touch screen needs to be installed indoors.
Users are able to customize the ringtone sent by the indoor display by touch controls or via the EZVIZ App. The outdoor doorbell only provides one default ringtone and cannot be customized.
The cloud storage service is only available in certain markets. Please verify the availability before making a purchase.
